To maximize the quality of the audio we either leave it uncompressed or convert it to Dolby Digital. Our process employs locked audio, which sustains consistent audio synchronization, regardless of segment length.
We accept VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Betamax, Video-8, Hi-8, Digital-8, MicroMV and Mini-DV.
We also can handle the professional Betacam SP, U-Matic SP (3/4"), DVCam, HD MiniDV and DVC-Pro formats.
Our DVDs are produced on a one-tape to one-DVD basis, and each DVD can hold up to 2 hours of video.
After your videos are digitized we perform quality checks to make sure that the video and audio operate in perfect sync and at the correct gain. We then burn to high quality DVD-R discs that are compatible with almost all DVD players.
By default we set up your DVD for auto-play. Chapter points are inserted at regular time increments so you can quickly advance or retreat to any point in the movie.
We do not install any copyright protection, so you are free to make copies of your DVD, provided you have a computer equipped with a DVD burner and appropriate DVD burning software.
You can edit your video by copying the *.VOB files to your hard drive and renaming them to *.MPG.
However, if you plan to do any serious editing it is best to use full qulity digital video files ("uncompressed" AVI or QuickTime). We can provide these on an external hard drive that you would provide. Note that uncompressed files occupy ~15GB per hour of video.
Note: You are welcome to send us your own hard drive or have one drop-shipped to our production facility. However, if it is formatted as FAT32, we must re-format the drive (AVI & QT files are too large) with resulting loss of previous data.
